Needless to say, the leadership at Grambling State University was thrilled and tweeted a simple message with a photo saying "Thank you, Beyoncé.
Dance team member Alana Arvie said it was "incredible" to perform at a private event with the superstar at about 1 am during Coachella. "To be able to hug her and interact with her was priceless," Arvie said.
The band and dancers had been practicing for the event, but little did they know that it would include Beyoncé. Arvie said they practiced for hours and "right before the performance" the superstar songstress came to their dressing room to take pictures and introduce herself."
It must have been a surreal moment for all involved, and the community can be proud that Grambling State University students are making an impact locally and nationally.
Something like this can't help but get the attention of high school graduates looking for a great college to attend, and Grambling certainly fits the bill.
As the tweet said: Thank you, Beyoncé.
